Focus on being healthy

After a month of listening to people talk about the swine flu, I’m just glad to relax in the sunshine. While we were putting together this health-conscious issue, everyone was wearing masks and cancelling their Mexican vacations, but instead of choosing articles about being sick, I tried to focus on being healthy. I think helping kids lead healthier lives should be a goal for all parents and our article on page 14 gives some good ideas on where to start. Since so many families struggle with food-allergic kids, our travel story will hopefully give you one less thing to worry about as you plan your summer.

As we round out another school year, let me again this year thank all the teachers in our area. We have some amazing schools that provide consistent accolades for their districts. It’s these teachers we need to thank for their dedication and hard work. Our kids will forever carry with them the lessons you have shared.

Have a wonderful June as we get ready for this year’s Fun Fair coming Aug. 8 and 9 to Boardman Park. We’ve got lots of fun planned so putit on your calendar now.
